Subject: Tudo Beleza !
Ola gente !Just wanna let you all know that Brasil is still amazing like always. We're working with less actives and have some investigators that are preparing for baptism, hopefully everything goes like planned. The other Elders had a baptism. An old, sweet, lady called Maria de Lurdes. She's been trying to quit smoking for some time now but she finally quit and was baptized. She's amazing, and funny. I got to share the message at her baptism and everything was just perfect for her. We were all crying and she came up to me and gave me a huge hug.....oops....and it was just good day. One thing that Elder Alencar said to me one time that another Elder told him is that it's not Elder so and so's baptism. It's OUR baptism, and this weekend I defintely learned and felt what that really means. My new companion is pretty cool. His name is Elder Bernardes and he's from Rio de Janeiro which is pretty much the Las Vegas of Brasil. It's really weird and a little hard at times because it's my first transfer and I'm so used to Elder Oliveira Neto but we're doing good here in Jacobina. He's the District Leader here so my first 2 companions are DL's. I've already learned alot from him. He was, and his family right now is less active so he really likes to work with menos ativos. And I'm perfectly fine with that.I know that there's been a lot of heart ache this last week and all of us pass through some tough times. Satan works and works and he stops at nothing, and it's really truly sad to see the effects of that. But, we are all children of God, and Jesus Christ suffered and died for all of us, so there aren't bad people, just bad decisions. But one thing that my dad said to me one time that I'll never forget, is that Light always overcomes darkness. Jesus Christ's Atonement makes it so we don't have to suffer alone, that we can truly be freed from sadness and pain. When Joseph Smith went to the woods to pray and ask God which church was true, Satan was working so hard and he honestly thought his life was gonna end, like there was no hope left inside of him. And in that moment when hope had left and he was down lower than he had been before, he saw the light and God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him and relieved him of all the pain and suffering and confusion. This gospel and the Atonement of Jesus Christ save us from all suffering so that one day we can taste of true happiness and joy that comes with the ultimate gift that God gives us which is Salvation. And like Joseph Smith writes, "How great shall be your joy in the kingdom of my Father."It's such a blessing to me to know that God lives and that he has a perfect plan for me. I love this gospel and I love my Savior. And I love that he is ALWAYS on my side with every step.I love you all so much and I miss you all a ton. I can't wait to talk to you all next week ! :D Huge hug for all of you from your favorite Elder ^_^--Élder Seraphin Alain DeckerMissão Brasil SalvadorA Igreja de Jesus Cristo dos SantosDos Ultimos Dias
