Oi pessoal ! First, I wanna thank you all for writing me all of these beautiful emails and what not, it honestly is one of the best parts of my week, just to sit and read what y'all have to say. This past week, was probably one of the best, if not the best, week I've had so far. I've gotten to grow close with the Elders living in my house. We're teaching, helping, and having fun. Maybe too much than we should but if I didn't have fun I'd die in my sleep. This morning we went on a hike and I got to take to cool pictures and videos so I'll try and send those later. The picture in this email is of a couple hours ago, everyone said I looked Brazilian, I think that's a good thing. I guess that means that my Portuguese is doing pretty good too. I've been slacking a little on my language study, gettin a little cocky but I'll get back on it. It's so hot here in Brazil but it's all good because it think it'll start cooling down a little bit after this transfer. The end of the transfer is in less than 2 weeks by the way, then I'm done with training and I kill my dad....(It's my trainers last area so he's dying and 'I'm his companion so I'm killing..hahha)
We met a lot new people that we're gonna get to know and teach this week. It's funny because in Preach My Gospel it talks about how everyone is searching for gospel of Jesus Christ in some form or another. And when I read that I was like yeah okay because we're the true church on the earth. But then I met people and just talking to them...the knowledge that God and Jesus Christ live and that God has a plan and purpose for them. That they have a Savior in Jesus Christ that can help them with every single problem in their life. That we have scriptures that we can read and learn from and literally feel like the prophets are talking to us and that we have a living prophet today. And that we can pray and literally talk to our Heavenly Father and feel true love and happiness and peace. And that knowing all of this and feeling Jesus Christ brings more blessing into your life that you can imagine. The gospel of Jesus Christ is for everyone and everyone is in some way looking for it, and for me to be one way I can help someone find it is a blessing in itself.
Just one person in particular that we met this week, a man named Gilberto. Lives alone, has a phobia of being in crowds, one of the most talented and smartest people I have ever met and he was literally waiting for us to walk up to his door. He told us about so many things that are troubling him in this life and that he hopes we can help him. He started saying a prayer for us at the end of one of our lessons and he was so sincere and really wanted to find the truth. I cried that day. I'd never felt that way about anyone, all I wanted to do was help him. And I will help him. He likes to talk alot because he honestly has no friends so we end up staying for a lot longer than we should sometimes at his house. No worries though.
This week is the big week. A marking point of my mission. Shoot, of my life. We have our first baptism this week with a girl named Marilia and it's looking like I'm gonna baptize her...O.O She's 13 and is the coolest kid I know. Our Branch here in Jacobina is gonna get a big gain this Wednesday.
Butttttttttt, I gotta go, so thanks again and I hope you all stay suave in the Estados Unidos. Talk to you next week !
